Route:

Get on the bus with the bikes, then head to a really beautiful part of the countryside in the west of Beijing. Free your mind while cycling on the paved light-traffic road along a beautiful river. Then we will arrive at a five hundred years old village. Today it has few inhabitants but it once was one of the last stops on the ancient Silk Road, a thriving and wealthy town where merchants built fine homes. The village and homes are beautifully preserved and strikingly peaceful, in contrast to bustling Beijing. After being recharged by superb provincial cuisine, we will tour around the ancient village learn some of its history and local customs. Later on we will cycle on the ancient silk road heading to an old strategic military pass. Then we will take the bus back to town.
