Our new running tours take you around the main sites of old Beijing, a combination of imperial sites and the major symbolisms of Chinese communism. Starting from the hutongs by Tiananmen Square, around the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Houhai and ending at the Drum Tower.
Beijing by Bike-Hutong Alley
Cycle down to Tiananmen Square, one of the world's largest squares, spacious enough to accommodate a million people. Watch the magnificent People's Heroes Monument and five-stated Red Flag waves on the seat of bike.
This tour then takes you to the legation quarter, locally called Dongjiaomin Lane, a district that was once turned into a a foreign compound off limits to the Chinese. Bike along this peaceful street in heart of Beijing, the city seems very far away, take a look of the old American embassy and British barracks...
Pedal through the winding narrow old streets of Beijing of Qianmen(Front Gate), locally called Hutong and listen to the guid explaining Beijing's history, Hutongers life, custom, architecture, pay a visit to a normal Beijing family, who lives in the traditional courtyard house, also called quadrangles(siheyuan)--a building complex formed by four houses around a quadrangular courtyard. Take the chance to see the lives of ordinary Beijing people, you'll find hospitality like you've never seen.
Tour of the old area of Beijing by Side Car
Cycle China offers travelers one of the most enjoyable ways to get around Beijing - the Yangtze 750 model sidecar motorcycle, a copy of the 1938 BMW that was used during World War II. Sit on the side car, time travel back to hundred years ago, starts from the relic of Ming dynasty city wall, allowing you to enjoy the views and take some pictures. Drive through the old Hutongs, as our guides explain the history of Beijing and answer any questions you may have. Stop at a 100 year old house which used to be Beijing's most famous brothel, followed by a drive to the fascinating Underground City. This was built during Chairman Mao Tse Dong's time in the Cultural Revolution, in fear of a nuclear war breaking out with the USSR. The huge Underground City almost extends to Tiananmen Square, but today only a small part is opened to public.
East Qing Imperial Tombs - World Cultural Heritage

The East Qing Imperial Tombs are located at Zunhua, 125 kilometers from Beijing. The resting place of 161 Qing emperors, empresses, and other members of the Qing imperial family, it is a World Heritage Site. They are the largest and most complete complex of imperial tombs in China.
Get on a bicycle, cycle on the peaceful and quiet road in the magnificent Grand Imperial Tombs area, riding from one tomb to another. The trip concludes by going to the little village nearby, having a well deserved meal before heading back to Beijing.
Bike to the Ming Village

Head to the countryside in the west of Beijing by private bus. Free your mind while cycling on the paved light-traffic road along a beautiful river. Then we will arrive at a five hundred years old village, today it has few inhabitants but once it was one of the last stops on the ancient Silk Road, a thriving and wealthy town where merchants built fine homes. The village and homes are beautifully preserved and strikingly peaceful, in contrast to bustling Beijing. After being entertained by superb provincial cuisine, we tour around the ancient village, learn a little bit history and custom.
